HALALT FIRST NATION WELCOMES NEW MARINE STEWARDSHIP COORDINATOR

The Halalt Team is excited to welcome Chris Good as the new Marine Stewardship Coordinator.

 

Background

Traditional name – Shxuy’sistun was born and raised in the Snuneymuxw Territory, on the east coast of Vancouver Island by his Parents – Late Peter and Sandra Good, Paternal Grandparents – Peter and Caroline Good (Johnston – Jefferies) Maternal Grandparents - Harvey and Gertrude Johnny (Point). Husband to Clorice and they are the proud parents of 2 amazing children.

Chris is excited to be working as the Marine Stewardship Coordinator for Halalt First Nation. He looks forward to developing a marine plan that follows the traditional values and teachings of our Ancestors, and that works together with the Strategic Plan for the Nation.

Chris graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011, the Indigenous Peoples Resource Management Program, and the Reserve Lands and Environmental Management Program through National Organization of First Nation Lands Managers.

Life Experience

Chris has worked in numerous trades throughout his career: Construction; Public Relations; Fisheries and Aquaculture; Resource Management; Economic Development and Governance. During Chris’s personal time he enjoys being outdoors fishing and hunting with family and friends.
